1. Where is Downtown Storrs?
The Town of Mansfield is comprised of 19 historic villages,* of which Storrs is one. Downtown Storrs is the area between the Liberty Bank building on Storrs Road/Route 195 and UConn and from the Mansfield Community Center to Whetten Woods. Downtown Storrs includes over 60 businesses (retail, restaurant, office), 650 housing units (rental and for-sale), a multi-modal transportation center (Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center), and Betsy Paterson Square, where many events are held year round.

2. Where can I park in Downtown Storrs?
Downtown Storrs offers several parking options including on-street, lot, and garage parking.
The Downtown Storrs Parking Garage is adjacent to One Royce Circle. Parking is free for the first two hours and is $1 an hour thereafter. The maximum daily charge is $8 during the hours of 6:00 AM to midnight, with $2/hour from midnight until 6:00 AM.
Free on-street parking is limited to 30-minutes or 1-hour, as signed, and is strictly enforced with ticketing and towing.
The Dog Lane parking lot, located behind 9 Dog Lane, offers free, 2-hour parking and is strictly enforced with ticketing and towing.
Bicycle racks are located behind 9 Dog Lane. There are indoor and outdoor bicycle racks at the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center (23 Royce Circle – adjacent to the parking garage) and bicycle racks on Betsy Paterson Square and around the downtown.
3. Where can I charge my electric vehicle?
The lower level of the Downtown Storrs Parking Garage includes four electric car charging stations. There are also charging stations at the Mansfield Community Center (10 S. Eagleville Road) and Price Chopper (1220 Storrs Road).
4. What is the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center?
The Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center is located adjacent to the Downtown Storrs Parking Garage.
The Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center serves as a central transportation node for UConn, Windham Region Transit District, and inter-city bus systems including CTtransit and Peter Pan. With the exception of CTtransit buses, buses are tracked in the “next bus system” which allows people waiting for a bus to know when the bus is actually arriving. Buses send a GPS signal to an application that is displayed inside and outside the Center as well as in a free smart phone app.
The Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center also houses the Mansfield Library Express, a limited service outpost of the Mansfield Public Library. 5. Are there facilities for bicyclists in Downtown Storrs?
Bicycle racks are located behind 9 Dog Lane. There are indoor and outdoor bicycle racks at the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center (23 Royce Circle – adjacent to the parking garage) and bicycle racks on Betsy Paterson Square and around the downtown.
The Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center provides several amenities for cyclists. The outside of the center includes bike racks for short-term commuters. And, the Town has a Bike Commuter Club for frequent cyclists. Club members receive access to secure (swipe card) bike storage and private showers and lockers from 5:00 am to midnight. There are limited spots available due to space; interested riders can sign up for membership at the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center (23 Royce Circle) between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Downtown ambassadors at the front desk can assist with questions about Commuter Club membership, rates, and policies.
Bicycle racks are also located in front of the Mansfield Town Hall (4 S. Eagleville Road) and the Mansfield Community Center (10 S. Eagleville Road).
