The Mansfield Downtown Partnership provides the trees - you provide the creativity! Decorate an evergreen tree in a winter theme or theme of your choice.

Trees will be displayed on Betsy Paterson Square during Winter Welcome. Visitors will vote for their favorites during the event. The top 3 vote-getters will receive prizes!

Winter Welcome will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

CONTEST DETAILS:

This contest is open to Mansfield businesses, community organizations, groups, individuals, and families and UConn departments, programs, and student organizations.

You may begin decorating your trees at 2:30 PM on the day of the event. We ask that you finish decorating and remove extraneous items by 3:45 PM. The trees will be on display until the event ends at 6:30 PM.

Votes will be collected at the Partnership’s tent during Winter Welcome. The entries receiving the top three number of votes will win gift cards to Downtown Storrs businesses.

Following the event, you are welcome to take your tree home! Or, you may choose to donate your tree (with or without decorations) to a local family. Donated trees will be collected at the end of the event and distributed by the Town of Mansfield Human Services Department.

NEW this year: We will provide limited electrical access for each tree!

Also NEW this year: Select your preferred canvas: An evergreen tree (approx. 6’ tall) or a snowman (approx. 5-6’ tall). Trees may be taken home or donated. Snowmen will be returned to the Partnership following the event.

Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
