Summer Concerts on the Square:
Community Bluegrass Jam
with Waldron’s Studio 88 and The Mansfield Pickers
The Mansfield Downtown Partnership and the Town of Mansfield host free concerts every Thursday in June and July on Betsy Paterson Square in Downtown Storrs. All performances will take place from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. All of the concerts are free and open to the public. The rain dates are on the following Tuesday, unless otherwise noted.
The 2025 Summer Concerts on the Square will feature performers from as close to home as Hartford and as far afield as Nashville, TN. Audiences will enjoy performances of cumbia, rock, bluegrass, indie pop, funk, and more!
JULY 3: COMMUNITY BLUEGRASS JAM
Bring your (acoustic) instruments and join the Community Bluegrass Jam! We’ll be joined by the Mansfield Pickers and supported by Waldron’s Studio 88. All ages, all abilities welcome to pick along - or just sit back and enjoy the music!
To help get the party started, we will post links for sheet music on our website that you can access ahead of time. Check our website soon for the tunes!
MANSFIELD PICKERS: The “Best Pluckin' Bluegrass Jam at the Mansfield Hollow Dam!,” invites everyone to bring your favorite tune or two! Seasoned strummers or novice noodlers welcome, the Mansfield Pickers are thrilled to show you the ropes! Come jam with us most every 4th Thursday inside The Kirby Mill at Waldron’s Studio 88! Donations welcome and appreciated.
WALDRON’S STUDIO 88: An all-inclusive music studio located in the historic Kirby Mill in Mansfield Center, Waldron’s Studio 88 offers personalized, private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, strings, percussion, and more. We tailor lessons to each student's unique goals and learning style. Beyond lessons, the studio hosts community-driven programs like monthly All Ages Open Mic nights, a Community Vocal Group, multiple homeschool groups and programs. With a mission to make music accessible to everyone, Waldron's Studio 88 fosters a welcoming environment for musicians of all ages and skill levels.

SEATING: Visitors are welcome to bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy the music with their friends and neighbors.
REFRESHMENTS: Stop for dinner at one of the many great restaurants in Downtown Storrs before the show or pick up some take-out and bring it to the Square (please note: alcohol is not permitted).
