Don’t Mess with Mansfield!
The Town of Mansfield and the University of Connecticut are teaming up to clean up litter and urging the public to help pick up along the roadsides across Town on Sunday, April 26.
UConn’s Office of Sustainability in the Institute of the Environment is coordinating the initiative with student clubs, organizations, fraternities, and sororities plus other UConn student volunteers. The university has set up eight different pickup spots around campus where students can grab garbage bags and supplies from 12 noon to 4 PM and join with friends in litter pick-up and drop-off. Details on the Mansfield Litter Check-in Spots specify what road, apartment grounds, or parking lots each area will target.
Mansfield residents who want to work alongside these students are urged to meet at Wings Over Storrs, 153 North Eagleville Road. Free parking is available at UConn’s F Lot. The goal is to target North Eagleville Road and adjacent waterways between campus and Rte. 32. Details on the cleanup are available on the Office of Sustainability’s website.
