Scientific Illustration of Birds with Virge Kask

Join this hands on scientific illustration workshop focusing on birds, alongside our Birds Up Close exhibit at the William Benton Museum of Art.

Join this hands-on, beginner friendly session where you will learn to observe bird anatomy, capture gesture and posture and render feathers and beaks using pencil and tracing paper. Ms. Kask will teach the best techniques for conveying the essence of these captivation creatures and provide tips for drawing from mounts and live subjects.

The workshop is scheduled for Saturday June 27, 2026, from 2-4pm, at the William Benton Museum of Art, University of Connecticut in Storrs.
